    Hi Hans,

    sorry for posting in the public forums, it slipped my mind that there was a beta tester forum aswell.

    Here is the DumpDebugBuffer from trying to start with the HD24000 in place, Output was VGA.
    I got no boot screen, rather a window telling me to insert ENV: and it locked

    That's okay, the debug log that you put there was for the "release" version. I do hope that people don't forget when they deal with the debug version's logs.

    Did you attempt to open a screen when you captured the log above? I see nothing there that resembles opening a screen. The final RadeonHD entry looks like it's related to getting info about screen resolutions.

    From the log, it looks like you're using the VGA output. Do you have anything attached to the DVI output as well?

    The above log was taken while the HD2400 was in place and booting (well, trying to) with it into WB the whole way from UBoot).
    It worked until (as i wrote) a window came up requesting to insert ENV: just BEFORE the Boot Screen ought to show.

    VGA output was used on the HD2400
    DVI output was not used on the HD2400

    I'll try to grab the output for opening the test screen while in WB with thew Radeon 9200

    EDIT:

    The below log was with RadeonHD monitor driver in place that has NONE screenmode information in there (because you said that it's trying to get information about screenmode i thought i'd try what happens if it has to look for some that are not there. I thought OS4 provides some standard ones if none are found?)

    Can you give me working screenmode tooltypes for your HD2400 card, so i can test with them, please?

    I don' t get any output (neither serial, nor in DumpDebugBuffer) when trying to display a test screen with Screenmode prefs

    One more information is, that the blinking cursor is gone and the second monitor switches off as soon as the Radeon 9200 displays the boot screen, don't know if that information is useable.

    I'm out of ideas

    I missed this bit last time. So, the graphics card did display something.

    I have occasionally had the "Insert ENV:" message come up on my system, and it usually locks up at this point. The RadeonHD driver isn't in my kicklayout because it would add an extra hard reset every time I want to test it. A warm reset tends to get it booting.

    The monitor tooltypes shouldn't matter and the ones that you copied from the Radeon driver should work fine. In fact, if you're using the RadeonHD card as the primary graphics card then it's using the tooltypes from the Radeon monitor anyway.

    This is normal. The RadeonHD driver shuts down the VGA mode as soon as it starts, and blanks all outputs.

    I'll email a version of the driver with even more debugging output for you to test when I have time (hopefully tomorrow). The resulting driver will be slow, but it should help narrow down where the problem lies.

    The funny thing is though, if i remove all the screenmode tooltypes, NO RadeonHD card comes up in screenmode prefs, but i think thats "normal"?

    I will be in work and away again, so take your time.

    Too bad, i thought with the debug output we could already narrow it down
    Maybe i have a differing chipset on the card?

    It's the same basic chipset as any other HD 2400. However, there are variations such as the output connectors, and variations in the AtomBIOS (particularly the tables that specify what the card's capabilities are). To make matters worse, all of the cards that I have personally tested had faulty card information in the AtomBIOS.

    Right now the debuging information tells me that basic initialization looks okay.
